FAQ

Common questions

How does the 3-day free trial work?

Download NearMirror and use every feature for 3 days at no cost. No credit card required to start. If you decide to continue, subscribe for $6.99/month.

How many devices can I connect?

Each subscription includes 2 devices. You can mirror and control up to 2 Android devices simultaneously from a single desktop. For additional devices, contact our sales team for enterprise licensing.

Which platforms are supported?

NearMirror runs natively on macOS (Apple Silicon and Intel), Windows (x64, .msi installer), and Linux (Debian/Ubuntu .deb).

Does my Android device need to be rooted?

No. NearMirror works with stock, unrooted Android devices running Android 5.0 or later. It uses standard Android Debug Bridge (ADB) protocols.

Can I connect wirelessly instead of USB?

Yes. You can pair via Wi-Fi using Wireless Debugging (Android 11+) or connect over your local network after an initial USB setup on older versions.

Can I cancel anytime?

Absolutely. There are no contracts or cancellation fees. Cancel your subscription at any time and you keep access until the end of your billing period.

Is my data private?

NearMirror connects directly between your computer and your Android device over a local connection. No screen data is sent to any external server.

Does it work with Android tablets?

Yes. NearMirror works with any Android device running Android 5.0 or later, including tablets. The mirrored window automatically adapts to the device screen size and orientation.

What happens after the trial expires?

After 3 days the app stops mirroring until you subscribe. Your settings and device pairings are preserved, so you can pick up right where you left off once you activate a plan.

Can I use it for app demos and presentations?

Absolutely. Mirror your device to a large display, record the session as a video file, and use keyboard shortcuts to control the demo — all without touching the phone.

Do you offer annual billing?

Not yet, but it is on our roadmap. Currently we offer monthly billing at $6.99/month. Follow our documentation for announcements on new plan options.

Is there a performance impact on my phone?

Minimal. NearMirror uses efficient screen capture built into Android. Most users see no noticeable battery drain or performance difference during normal mirroring sessions.
